ABOUT ALFALFA
WHAT IS ALFALFA?
Alfalfa, also called Lucerne,
is a forage legume, used
for making delicious hay.
It also provides excellent grazing and silage, and the deep root system improves soil nitrogen fertility, meaning it's a superb green manure and cover crop.
NUTRITIOUS
Green leafy alfalfa hay is very nutritious. Alfalfa contains more protein, calcium, and vitamin A than maize silage or early-cut grasses. It has the highest feeding value of all common hay crops, and is also rich in vitamin E, D and K.
YORKSHIRE GROWN
Riverside alfalfa is grown on local family farms in North Yorkshire. It has a bright green colour with small nutritious stems, which provide your pets with a rich taste and soft texture.
ECO-FRIENDLY
Unlike other crops, we don't need to cultivate or drill with new seed every year, helping us to lower our carbon footprint. The long tap roots feed the soil, improve drainage and help to reduce flooding.
